“Podcasting is still a white man’s game.” When you look at the top podcasts on the charts, only 1/3 are hosted by women, and just over 10% have non-white hosts.
That’s why I invited Jess Kupferman, Co-Founder of She Podcasts, an online and offline community for women podcasters with over 15,000 members strong, to come on the show.
In this episode, we’re chatting about everything from planning events to accommodate ALL women (introverts, you’re going to love this!), the depressing statistics about women in podcasting, and how companies and individuals can do better to further diversity in the field.
We’re also diving into some uncomfortable topics – when it feels hard to talk about race, the risk of white centering, how to use our own fear to take bold action and whether or not we’re sabotaging our own success.
This is a deep and important episode with a WHOLE lot of wit and silliness, all rolled into one, and we would expect nothing less from the extraordinaire Jess Kupferman!
