P.F. CANDLE CO | LOS ANGELES
Meet the Maker
Kristen's been creating things, even candles, since a young age. She poured her first candle at the age of 12. After graduating from college, Kristen found herself at a publishing company, but started P.F. Candle Co. in 2008 when she was laid off. From a 2nd bedroom operation to a globally recognized brand, P.F. is a completely bootstrapped enterprise. It got its big break in 2013, when the line was picked up by West Elm. The demand from this big break inspired Kristen's husband, Tom, to join the business full time. With no formal business degrees or experience, P.F. Candle Co. has been built with the spirit of grit, passion and DIY.
What is P.F. Candle Co.?
All of P.F.'s products are designed, produced and shipped under one roof in their factory in Los Angeles. Home fragrance is the final puzzle piece of making your home feel like, well, home. P.F.'s mission is to create high-end quality candles at accessible price points, making home fragrance an everyday luxury.
Why P.F. Candle Co.?
P.F. Candle Co., born Pommes Frites, was founded by Kristen in 2008. When the recession hit, Kristen lost her job and relocated to Austin with the dream of paying the bills by making things by hand. In 2012, after a variety of products, hours on the craft fair circuit, and another cross-country move, the P.F. Candle Co. signature amber jar line was launched.
